What you will do with us
We are looking for an ambitious site manager for our pipeline construction department (heidel-gloett.de) and drilling technology (wmz-bohrtechnik.de). The role of a site manager in pipeline construction or drilling technology, especially in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), is crucial as it requires in-depth knowledge in geology and foundation construction. Job Scope: Knowledge in the following areas is important: 1. Geology and soil mechanics: Understanding geological conditions is essential for planning and executing drilling projects. This includes knowledge about different types of soil and their properties, groundwater conditions, and the interpretation of geotechnical reports. 2. Drilling technology and HDD process: The candidate should be familiar with the entire HDD process, including planning and execution of drilling projects, borehole geometry, handling drilling fluids, and borehole stabilization. 3. Site management and project management: The role also requires strong management skills. The site manager should be able to plan and monitor projects, manage resources, lead the team, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. 4. Construction and environmental law: The site manager should be familiar with the relevant construction and environmental laws as well as technical standards, such as DIN 4124 (Construction measures in existing buildings - foundations), DIN EN 16228 (Drilling equipment - safety) and the regulations of the construction industry's professional association (BG Bau). Qualifications: A site manager in pipeline construction or HDD process (drilling technology) needs a mix of technical knowledge and management skills. Here are some qualifications that are particularly important for this role: 1. Technical knowledge: A deep understanding of construction, especially in the areas of civil engineering and pipeline construction, is required. This includes knowledge about machines and materials used in the HDD process, as well as knowledge in geotechnics and soil mechanics. It is also important to know the technical standards and regulations, such as DIN 18300 "Earthworks" and DIN 18307 "Laying of pipelines". 2. Management skills: A good site manager should be able to lead and motivate a team. This includes skills in personnel management, time management, and cost management.
