What you will do with us
We're looking for ambitious skilled workers for our pipeline construction department (heidel-gloett.de) for the construction site. Pipeline builders create pipeline systems for water, gas, oil, or district heating and maintain these networks. Before laying pipes, they dig out the trenches and secure them. Then they lower the necessary pipe parts into the trench. Mostly, they use standard pipes. Special pieces like branches or bends, which can't be pre-made, are crafted in their workshop. In the construction pit, they connect the pipe parts into a durable and tight pipeline that sometimes has to withstand high pressure. Depending on the pipe material, they weld, glue, or screw the pieces together. They also install branches, shut-off valves, and measuring devices. After that, they perform a leak test and close the trenches. They also handle repair and maintenance work on pipelines: fixing pipe breaks or connecting households to a supply network, for example. Requirements: • Craftsmanship skills (e.g., for pipe renovation, maintenance, and repair tasks) • Carefulness and a sense of responsibility (e.g., when performing leak tests, inspecting weld seams) • Caution (e.g., when placing large and heavy pipe pieces into the construction pit and handling construction machinery on the site)
